Saginaw Transit Authority and Regional Services is trying to help bridge the gap between employment and transportation.
Many looking for a job have been turned down due to lack of transportation.
STARS is looking to help change that with a job fair.
The job fair is being held on Thursday, June 1st from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. at 615 Johnson St., Saginaw.
The fair features employers that are reachable through STARS bus routes.
The employers attending the job fair include STARS as well as Huron Castings, Blue Diamond Steel, Delta College, Francis Reh Academy, Hemlock Semiconductor, and the Partnershift Network.
Candidates will be able to fill out applications and have on-site interviews.
“Transportation is regarded as the biggest barrier to employment in Saginaw. If you don’t have a car or have other problems with transportation, we want you to know that you still can have a full-time job with great benefits. STARS has bus routes to these jobs, so please help us get the word out to your friends and family who are looking for not just work, but a career,” said Glenn Steffens, STARS Executive Director.
