Our Sustainability Journey

At HSC, our values drive everything we do. They underpin our commitment to sustainability as we manufacture the highest quality polysilicon for a digital, low-carbon world. Sustainability is not just a goal; it is at the heart of our purpose and vision, guiding our efforts to create a better future for all.

That’s why we regularly assess where we have excelled, where we continue to improve, and where we need to put increased focus to build a more resilient and environmentally sustainable society.

Our first sustainability report, released in 2020, established a baseline for HSC’s sustainability efforts across the enterprise.

Our second sustainability report, released in 2022, updated our progress in key areas and set forth a series of voluntary commitments that continue to guide our sustainability efforts going forward. Among others, these commitments include reducing HSC’s carbon footprint by 30% by 2028, maintaining a strong safety record, and driving waste streams into their lowest possible environmental impact.

Our 2024 report highlights the progress we’ve made over the past two years in achieving our sustainability commitments and notes HSC’s ongoing work to gain a deeper understanding of Scope 3 emissions – those attributable to our full supply chain – as well as our commitment to continued collaboration with industry stakeholders to drive down the embodied carbon in our products.

While we’re proud of the progress HSC is making toward a more sustainable society, we know we have untapped potential and unlimited resolve to do even more.
